Free Book Friday (and a 99 cent Book): April 16

There is a dollar sign easily found on the keyboard, but the cent sign? I googled it and this is the instruction:

Here’s a quick way to add the cent symbol to your word doc. On the number pad on your keyboard, make sure the NumLock key is on. Press and hold down the [Alt] key and then press 0162 on the number pad. Then release the [Alt] key.

A quick way? So I follow the instructions and get this: à. OK. try again:☻. Nope. Number lock on. Check. ◙ What the..? Wait. not all at the same time? ¶. Arrrgh! OK.OK. Relax. Alt. 0. 1. 6. 2. (drumroll) Release Alt:

¢ Success!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! It’s kinda small though. Whatever. Good enough.

I did add another author’s poetry book to the review list, but other than that, no new promos going on.

Except:

Feel free to pass on the link to any sci-fi fans you know!

Free Book Friday (and Book News): April 9

Before I get to the free books—OK, if you want to scroll down, go ahead, but you’re going to miss the announcement. Actually you won’t because you are going to pass right by it (unless you do it fast). Still with me, or did you already peek? Yeah, I know it’s right there. I can see it too.

I choose my new book cover! Thanks to everyone who gave me their input. It was appreciated.

I guess this is what they call a soft launch. I’ve slowly been replacing the cover graphic on all my sites. The hardest was KDP. Don’t get me started on that. I will be running a $0.99 sale on Amazon starting on April 15, but if you don’t want to wait: The Knot at the End of the Rope

Now that is taken care of, let’s see what delights we have today:

Free Book Friday

Where’s Funny Friday? Or Fun Friday. How about another alliterative title? – well partially alliterative.

I’ve met many authors and readers during my time marketing, cross-promoting, and blogging. I think writers have a responsibility to inform readers about all the indie authors out there in the very crowded world of book publishing. You can’t do it alone, and why would you when you have a supportive group available?

Readers don’t just read one author – they stick with their favorite genres. There lies the power in cross-promotion. If one of my readers buys a book from an author I promote, then chances are there will be a reciprocal effect, or so is the hope. Do I want to boost sales? Of course I do. Do I want to boost other’s sales? Why not. It’s called Karma.

My new page will showcase the promotions that I am involved in, and will be updated every Friday. I hope that you will find something new.

OK. Still with me? Great. Here’s something fun. What is a word that you always misspell? Mine is “definitely”. Don’t know why, but spell check always calls me out on that one. *

*And I had to write a book with post-apocalyptic stories in it in order to learn to spell “apocalyptic”.**

**And I still have to look at my fingers…***

***And it still never looks right
