When I hear the word ‘football’, I immediately think: đ. I can’t help it. But during 99% of the North American game, the ball is nowhere near the foot.
When 99% of the world’s population hear the word ‘football’, I’m sure they think: â˝. Where the ball is moved 90% of the time by the player’s foot.
I can watch some sport matches from beginning to end. But I’m not an avid â˝ fan. Will I tune in today’s match between Canada and Belgium? If I’m around a TV I will have it on. Will I be glued to the screen? Probably not. It would be nice for Canada to get a win, though.
Next on the agenda: Fibonacci.
Had I had more warning, I probably would have made a cartoon of Leonardo Bonacci doing something funny with numbers, but the Artemis spaceship was the focus of “The Untitled” today.
The Fibonacci sequence is a set of integers that starts with a zero, followed by a one, then by another one, and then by a series of steadily increasing numbers. The sequence follows the rule that each number is equal to the sum of the preceding two numbers. So:
0, 1, 1, 2, 3, 5, 8, 13, 21, 34 …
Math and numbers are fascinating and weird. If you give me 1/3 of the pizza I have a slice I can hold in my hand, but if you turn 1/3 into a decimal (1 divided by 3) you get a number that never ends:
1.33333333333333333333333333333333333333333333333333 …
So, where’s the rest of my pizza, dude?

Youâre right. For the rest of us football is a game where all the players kick the ball. It isnât a squad of a zillion terminators, only two of whom ever kick it – to us, that is âhandegg.â

Need you ask? England, of course! And given previous rivalries I thoroughly enjoyed watching Argentina and Germany both lose to the supposedly lesser teams. I just hope we donât do that against the US!
