If I haven’t said this to you before (and I know I have), I’m a slow writer. My first attempt at writing 1600 words/day failed, but as a consolation prize, I did get a novella out of it which turned into a trilogy, or more accurately, is turning into a trilogy.

So, while I am not officially participating in NaNoWriMo, I will be using the month of November as motivation to finish Book Three in my science fiction trilogy.

Add to that, I submitted it to be available for pre-order with a release date of April 17, although I may move that earlier if everything flows quickly.

The next step is to create a “box set” with all books available together.

So, if you are doing NaNo this year, quit reading this and start writing. I’ve already written 138 words and they don’t even count.

The story behind Free Book Friday:

I’ve met many authors and readers during my time marketing, cross-promoting, and blogging. I think writers have a responsibility to inform readers about all the indie authors out there in the very crowded world of book publishing. You can’t do it alone, and why would you when you have a supportive group available?

Readers don’t just read one author – they stick with their favorite genres. There lies the power in cross-promotion. If one of my readers buys a book from an author I promote, then chances are there will be a reciprocal effect, or so is the hope. Do I want to boost sales? Of course I do. Do I want to boost other’s sales? Why not. It’s called karma.
