Promoting other authors is a lot of work, but you can’t expect something from nothing. Most authors I feature here and in my newsletter has agreed to promote on of my books to their readership.
The exception is when I do interviews, which, if you are wondering, will return at some point. Usually I don’t ask for a reciprocation, only to share the interview link on their social media channels, which I hope drives traffic to my website.
Short story shorter: I haven’t had too many promos and interviews lately because, well, like I said, it’s a lot of work and I’m short on time at the moment. I have hardly touched my latest WIP.
Work in progress.
Ahh. The Final View?
It is gonna be good?
The story behind Free Book Friday:
I’ve met many authors and readers during my time marketing, cross-promoting, and blogging. I think writers have a responsibility to inform readers about all the indie authors out there in the very crowded world of book publishing. You can’t do it alone, and why would you when you have a supportive group available?
Readers don’t just read one author – they stick with their favorite genres. There lies the power in cross-promotion. If one of my readers buys a book from an author I promote, then chances are there will be a reciprocal effect, or so is the hope. Do I want to boost sales? Of course I do. Do I want to boost other’s sales? Why not. It’s called karma.
