How astute are you as a reader? Do you skim or do you pay attention to every detail?
I inadvertently put an Easter egg in my book, The View from Here. As I was typing, the words just fit into the scene and I thought, “Hey, that’s kinda cool.” Then I didn’t tell anyone.
Until now. Do you think you can find it?
What will I win if I find it?
Finding it is not prize enough?
Nope.
OK. How about a limited-edition paperback copy of The View from Here?
Why is it limited?
Well, when I uploaded my manuscript, it didn’t have any page numbers, and I didn’t notice until I have ordered my copies (and another reader pointed it out as well).
Will you sign it?
Sure. I don’t think it will increase the value, though.
What if I already read the book?
Did you find the Easter egg?
I wasn’t looki—[silence]—I should read it again?
You should read it again.
Do we get a clue?
Well . . .
C’mon.
I have more than one science fiction book.
You want me to buy your other book.
You can get it for free if you want to review it.
OK, that sounds like a good deal. But I can buy it—if I want, right?
Certainly. A review or a purchase makes an author happy. If you recommend the book to someone, that’s great too! Just email me if you find it and I’ll draw a couple of names.
I’ll be able to mail a copy in CAN/US. I think I can gift a copy to anyone outside of North America through Amazon. It will have page numbers, though.
