
Inspiration often hits when you are not looking for it. I spent some time at my parent’s place, in the middle of nowhere some might say, but I think it is in the middle of somewhere wonderful, on a lake, surrounded by trees, with no neighbors.
There was still ice on the bay, so a morning walk around the island as the sun came up was in order before the snow got too soft. After that, when the birds saw I was having a coffee on the deck, they let me know that it was time for their morning toast.
Yeah, that’s the middle of somewhere . . .

Leon Stevens is a multi-genre author, composer, guitarist, songwriter, and an artist, with a Bachelor of Music and Education. He published his first book of poetry, Lines by Leon: Poems, Prose, and Pictures in January 2020, followed by a book of original classical guitar compositions, Journeys, and a short story collection of science fiction/post-apocalyptic tales called The Knot at the End of the Rope and Other Short Stories. His newest publications are the novella trilogy, The View from Here, which is a continuation of one of his short stories, and a new collection of poetry titled, A Wonder of Words.
