Spring.
The back lane is full of deep ruts and meltwater. The sidewalks are covered with slush and water, forcing people to walk on the road. Sand and salt everywhere. Drivers don’t slow down, dousing pedestrians with a dirty shower. You realize how many dog owners don’t pick up after their pets.
At least it’s warm.
