Free Book Friday: May 28 – Review Copies

The story behind Free Book Friday:

I’ve met many authors and readers during my time marketing, cross-promoting, and blogging. I think writers have a responsibility to inform readers about all the indie authors out there in the very crowded world of book publishing. You can’t do it alone, and why would you when you have a supportive group available?

Readers don’t just read one author – they stick with their favorite genres. There lies the power in cross-promotion. If one of my readers buys a book from an author I promote, then chances are there will be a reciprocal effect, or so is the hope. Do I want to boost sales? Of course I do. Do I want to boost other’s sales? Why not. It’s called karma.

Hey, Leon! Any new promos this week?
“Nope.”
“Why not?”
“Just the way things work out, I guess.”
“Oh, OK. So next week then?”
“Let me check…”
[elapsed time: 2 minutes]
“Yeah, I have a few Kindle Unlimited starting in June.”
So, next week then?”
“Yes, next week.”
Alright, see ya.”
“Wait! There is still stuff to read today.”
“OK.”

I’ve done quite a few posts about reviews, the importance of them, the difficulty of getting them, what it means to an author to give away their hard work – often with no return.

Some of you have taken me up on my offer to send out review copies, and every one has submitted a review. So, I will put out the offer again. Do you want to review either of my books? Drop me a message telling me why (and the format).

Want to try your hand at editing?

Do you have an eye for details? I compiled all my NapoWriMo poems into one volume, but it needs a once over to check for errors. Send me a message below. I’ll send a word doc. for editing.
